Yerevan...finally!

After nearly 24 hours of solid travel, we finally set down in our small youth hostel in Yerevan, Armenia last night around midnight. Happy 4th of July, America! We met our host, Mary at the airport in Yerevan and she got us crammed into our taxi with our luggage for the 20 minute drive to our youth hostel.

Though dark, driving through the streets of late-night Yerevan got me excited to get up in the morning, eat breakfast and get exploring. Dad and I shared a private room (bunk beds!!) and Mary and Margaret were in a shared area, though we never saw them after we said good night. The travel via Chicago & London was long, but uneventful for the most part--though I think it was the most single-day travel I've ever experienced. I wish I would have laid my head on my pillow and fell deep to sleep, but I think my excitement and jet-lag kept me up until 4 AM.

Our plans today are to explore Yerevan, then spend the night again here--taking in the Constitutional Day festivities. More again soon!
