Day Before

National Geographic Photo

This is the first entry into the Frimoth Armenia Adventure!

Within 24 hours, my 86-year old father, sister Margaret and I will be airborne heading to the capital city of Armenia--Yerevan to begin our ten day tour of Armenian life and culture! We will be meeting up with Mary Ann Harty, the Peace Corps friend of my father's who will serve as our host for the next ten days!

This adventure started with a simple response to an email from Mary, a long-time friend of my father's from Westminster Presbyterian Church in Portland. Her simple sentence, "When are you coming to visit me in Armenia", has blossomed into this pending trip into an area of the world none of us has ever been!

My hope, depending on internet connections, will be to keep a daily blog/journal of photos, and a synopsis of our excursions, conversations and emergence in this truly ancient and rich culture.

July 1 - Day Before: Many details to deal with today. United changed my dad's and my seat assignments from PDX to London Heathrow and I'm spending most of my Sunday on the phone with them!
